Alain Le Saux
General Secretary of Metropolis
Since the 25th of November 2011, Alain Le Saux is Secretary General of Metropolis. He is also Executive Director of the Global Fund for Cities Development (FMDV) since 2010. From 2007 to 2010, he was director of the FMDV’s project. Previously, from 1999 to 2006, he was Deputy General Director of Administration of the Ile-de-France Regional Council (Paris) in charge of International and European Affairs. From 1988 to 1998 he was Scientific Director of METROPOLIS, world association of major metropolises. Previously He started his professional career in private sector (1976) he has been Adviser of the French Minister in charge of “natural and industrial disasters’ prevention” (1984-1986).
